I had calcifiic tendonitis in my rotator cuff. I had been to three specialists on the Northshore, and all three said that I either get surgery to remove the calcium deposits or I just have to live with the pain. I found Dr. Meijer online, and it turns out he is the only one in the New Orleans area that does ultrasound guided barbotage. He did the procedure the first time he saw me, and the procedure itself was pretty amazing. I only felt a dull ache considering the size of the needle he used. I was uncomfortable for about three days after, but it was to be expected. I went back 6 weeks later and all the calcium deposits had been absorbed back into my body. Dr. Meijer was an absolute professional, he had a great demeanor, and he answered all the questions I had during my visits with him. I highly recommend him for any orthopedic concerns, and I will only be going to see him in the future.
